PRESS RELEASE: 18-11-2011 Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association condemns in strongest possible terms the sacrilegious act of uploading of blasphemous, obscene and anti-Islamic pages on the Internet site, Facebook by certain anti-Islamic forces
Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association condemns in strongest possible terms the sacrilegious act of uploading of blasphemous, obscene and anti-Islamic pages on the Internet site, Facebook by certain anti-Islamic forces who are bent upon to injure and hurt the religious feelings of the majority community of the state and to show them down in their belief in Islam and in its teachings. The Bar Association feels that from some time past these ugly forces, who have gone unchecked, have now mustered the courage to attack Islam and the Holy Prophet openly and even have started distributing anti-Islamic and obscene literature to target the mind of ordinary Kashmiri Muslim so as to persuade him to abandon his religious faith and belief in Islam. These forces under the patronage of vested interests, have also floated fictitious and fraudulent NGO’s and in the name of providing relief to the poor, they are engaged in conversion of people to Christianity. The administration though well aware of their nefarious designs have, however, left them free to indulge in any kind of such activity and have not proceeded against them, for bringing an end to their illegal and criminal activities.
The Bar Association requests the people to raise their voice against those persons who have uploaded these pages on the internet sites which has injured the religious feeling of the majority community of the state time and again. It also calls upon the administration to register forthwith criminal cases against all those persons who have with deliberate and malicious intention of outraging the religious feelings of the majority community posted anti-Islamic and obscene content on the Facebook, to insult their religious belief.
