One day Seerat conference was held today on 04.02.2012 in the High Court complex Srinagar as organised by the J&K High Court Bar Association Kashmir, in which lawyers, intellectuals, professors and scholars participated. In the seerat conference the topic for discussion was chosen as Islamic revolution and the political strategy of Prophet Mohammad SAW. The conference was presided over by the President Mr. M. A. Qayoom and Professor Kaleem-ul-lah Khan and Professor Nasir Mirza were the jury members. Mr. M. A. Qayoom, Mr. N. A. Ronga, Mr. Syed Manzoor, Mr. G. N. Shaheen, Mr. Arshid Indrabi, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Wani, Mr. Showkat Hussain Thakur, Mr. Mohammad Amin Ahanger, Mr. Syed Maqbool Qadri Advocates were the main speakers who expressed their views on the topic in the conference and highlighted the importance of political strategy adopted by the Prophet Mohammad SAW during his lifetime to promote Islamic revolution and its implementations in the contemporary world. It was observed by the speakers that the political order in Islam envisages following fundamental principles :
1. Sovereignty lies with Almighty Allah.
2. Vicegerency lies with the mankind. The mankind is trustee of the sovereignty of Allah.
3. Quran and Sunnah is the constitutional foundation of political order.
4. Equality and brotherhood, the basic feature of Islamic political order.
5. Use of natural resources to the needs of the people irrespective of the color, creed or sex or region.
It was highlighted by the speakers in the conference that Quran is the text and seerat of Prophet Mohammad SAW is practical explanation of it. So the prophet Mohammad SAW is to be understood in the context of Quran.
It was also highlighted by the speakers that the fundamental aspect of the political strategy adopted by the Prophet Mohammad SAW was peaceful cooperation and peaceful coexistence and Prophet Mohammad SAW never adopted offensive tactics to promote the cause of Islam. The Prophet Mohammad SAW never was surprised in facing challenges as Prophet Mohammad SAW was always inquisitive and was acting on suttle information. The speakers highlighted the important aspects of political strategies Prophet Mohammad SAW as observed at historical movements including the event of Halful-Fazool, hijrat from Mecca to Madina, agreements for peaceful coexistence with the Jews and Christians in and around the Madina, Agreement of Hudaibiyah, Fateh Mecca and Hajatul-Widah, which is a leading guidance today in the contemporary world for global Islamic revolution.
The jury members Professor Nasir Mirza and Professor Kaleem-ullah Khan in their scholarly speech impressed upon the need of following principles of Islam and understanding the Islam in its correct perspective and spirit through scientific studies. Mr. Kaleem-ullah appealed the audience to spear at-least 15 minutes for reading Quran, Ahadees and Seerat with objective understanding so that we are able to discharge our duties as Dayani Islam.
At the end of the conference jury members declared Mr. G. N. Shaheen, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Ronga and Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Wani (Jointly) and Mr. Syed Manzoor as first three best speakers and accordingly G.N. Shaheen was awarded first prize of Rs. 3000/- Mr. Nazir Ahmad Ronga and Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Wani (Jointly) were awarded second prize of Rs. 2000/- and Mr. Syed Manzoor was awarded third prize of Rs. 1000/-.
Mr. M. A. Qayoom while thanking the participants, speakers, and the jury members promised to organise such conferences of Seerat conferences in future with a sense of imbibing Islamic attitude at institutional level and observed the need of holding such seminars in different institutions so as to seek correct understanding of Islam and nearer-nest to Allah
