The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association strongly condemn the shameful act of a Shiv Sena MP from Maharastra who forced a Muslim employee at Maharastra Sadan New Delhi to brake his fast by putting a chapatti in his mouth. The Bar Association also condemns the act of Najma Haptullah, Minority Affairs Minister of BJP Govt. who refused to comment on the incident and also the brazen defense of Shiv Sena Chief Udhay Thackrey and the criminal silence of BJP led Govt. at the centre on the issue.
The Bar Association strongly believes that the ugly act of the Parliamentarian falls within the ambit of section 295-A IPC, as such a case should be registered against him and after presenting the challan in the court he should be prosecuted for outraging the religious feelings and insulting the religious belief of the Muslim community as a whole and sentenced him for a maximum punishment of ten years for the crime committed by him.
The Bar Association also opposes the declaration of Kausar Nath located 30 km ahead of Aharbal, a famous Tourist Resort as a Hindu pilgrimage destination, as it is bound to play havoc and cause environment disaster in the State and will be a catastrophe of future.
The Bar Association feels that the State Govt. instead of opposing the move has fallen prey to the religious fanatics and in the name of regions tourism, it is out to destroy the nature by allowing some 4000 Hindus to visit the lake on 29.07.2014 for Pooja with the State Govt. making all necessary preparations for the pilgrimage which act of the State Govt. besides being highly reprehensible is also fraught with danger.
