PRESS RELEASE In an extra ordinary meeting of the executive committee of the JK HCBA
In an extra ordinary meeting of the executive committee of the JK HCBA presided over by the Vice-President Mr. B. A. Dar wherein the concern has been shown towards the non-filling of the higher judiciary (District Judge) posts by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association has shown deep concern for diversion of the quota from direct recruitment to the promotional quota and has shown its solidarity with the cause as agitated by the Jammu Bar Association. Furthermore the consecutively delay and postponement of the examination of the higher judiciary has resulted in non-filing of the posts at appropriate time which has increased the pendency of cases in the subordinate courts and also has caused frustration among the aspirants.
As such, it was decided in the meeting that the Bar Association will oppose the diversion of the quota from direct recruitment to the promotional quota and also the Hon’ble High Court is requested hold the examination as per the scheduled date and be not further postponed and delayed.
