J&K Bar Association, Srinagar, expresses its deep concern over the unabated killing of Kashmiris by the Indian armed forces and appeals the International Community to come forward and help the people of Kashmir from the sufferings and miseries being inflicted on them by the ruthless forces.
In the backdrop of what happened today at Suthoo Nowgam, the Bar members in a general body meeting held here today, stated that every day one or the other Kashmiri is being killed in a cordon and search operation or else in a stage managed fake encounter and he world community is watching the scenario silently and without showing any concern for such brutal killings happening at the hands of Indian forces. It was further stated that highly qualified Kashmiris have taken to guns only because the long pending issue of Kashmir is awaiting its settlement for the last seventy years and the people who are seeking the implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions are being murdered, blinded or maimed ruthlessly.
The Bar members while demanding for an immediate end to these worst kind of human rights violations and brutalities, also appeals the conscious people of Indian Society including all Human Rights Organizations operating inside and outside India to understand the gravity of situation and play its role in stopping the genocide of the people of Kashmir.
The Bar members in order to show their solidarity with the cause and register their protest against the gruesome killings, also abstained from court work today.
