The 13th July is a historical day in the national and political history of Jammu and Kashmir as on this day 82 years back in 1931 the people of Jammu and Kashmir expressed their desire to break the chains of centuries old slavery when people of the state publically denounced the autocratic rule of Dogra regime and in this event of external manifestation of their internal desire and love for freedom scores of Kashmiri Muslims sacrificed their lives and hundreds suffered bullet injuries, as such the 13th of July is a day of foundation of our freedom struggle and since then the people of Jammu and Kashmir are carrying the mission of the martyrs of 13th July in changing circumstances. The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association and its members while paying tributes to the martyrs of 13th July promise to support and carry on the mission of these martyrs till the goal of freedom is achieved by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Bar Association at this movement ventures to call upon the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the political leadership to rise to the occasion and cement unity in the ranks and file to pursue the path of freedom struggle and achieve the noble goal of freedom. The Bar Association feels it appropriate to apprise the political leadership especially the freedom leadership with the sacrifices given by the people since 1931 till date and makes it clear that no nation can effort the luxury of cynicism, ignorance and betrayal in view of the huge sacrifices, colossal loses suffered by the people. The fragmentation and diverse political actions cannot serve the interests of the people and cause of freedom. The martyrs of 13th July 1931 shall remain in our enduring memories and let us pledge today to sign a fresh contract for achievement of our national goal of freedom and sink our differences and go together. The Bar Association equally pays tributes to all the martyrs of freedom struggle whose number exceeds six lakhs by now whose blood cries for justice, freedom and peace.
The Bar Association express its deep concern on the killings of innocent people in Jammu and Kashmir and calls upon the Govt. of India to desist from the policy of state repression and subjugation of political and human rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association express it’s grief and concern on the killing of two young boys namely Adil and Abid at Rutsana Tral who got killed in a bomb explosion while removing the debris of damaged houses shuttered by Moter shelling by the Army a few days back and holds the security agencies and the Govt. directly responsible for the loss of lives of these two young boys.
